Coventry Ceiling Medallion
With luscious swirls and delicate fluffs that almost look like the top of a wedding cake at a French patisserie, this period ceiling medallion was manufactured in Syracuse, NY probably around 1940-1949. In pristine condition, I delicately hand painted each rosette, leaf, and flourish in pastel shades among the softest hint of a baby sky blue hue.
This piece is extremely heavy; it was manufactured by the Syracuse Ornamental Company, in Syracuse, NY. Started in 1890 by Austrian woodworker, Adolph Holstein, he ingeniously created many decorative products of a mixture of wood flour, waxes and resins that molded easily and last a lifetime.
This will require professional installation by your contractor or carpenter to assure it is safely mounted to the ceiling joists.
